Sewer lines
People connected to the sewer line and whose sewer pipes are not flowing or otherwise not working properly, please contact the Public Sewerage Facilities Maintenance Center’s Management and Maintenance Division (TEL: 025-281-9060). (Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30)

However, if public pipes (pipes installed within approximately 1 meter of the boundary between the road and the property) are damaged and not working properly on the side of private property, please directly contact a sewer line construction company to request repairs. Repair costs are to be paid for by the resident.
Note: Public pipes have caps with a diameter of approximately 20 to 40 centimeters. The caps may be made of metal or concrete.

Septic Tanks
・If you are using the private septic tank, please check to make sure that the septic tank is working properly. If the septic tank is used while broken, it could result in a foul odor, etc. For details on how to check if the septic tank is working, please refer to the "If the Septic Tank is Flooded Due to Heavy Rain, etc." page. If you are unable to check by yourself, please contact the septic tank maintenance and inspection company you have a contract with.

・Areas which have septic tanks installed according to the Public Septic Tank System are installed and managed by Niigata City, so please contact us if there is damage to septic tanks.

Trash
・Furniture, etc. that was damaged in the earthquake and must be thrown away (burnable trash, non-burnable trash, oversized household trash, and specified items (5)) can be disposed of for free at designated areas. Please move all trash to the designated areas by yourself by September 30 (Monday). ( You are required to show a Disaster Victim Certificate).
・When disposing of dirt and mud, do not dump it back into ditches, instead please dispose of it in
the sandbags distributed for free by the ward offices, etc.
